I thought disengaging might work, but it can come off either rude ,or like he said in the video it can also be passive because you allow more negativity by not speaking up. A more direct approach may be necessary. Ive had this habit of turning their negativity into a joke or something positive, but Ive grown exhausted with this approach. If calling out someone out will actually get the behavior to stop, Im all for it now.

I honestly don't care that much if someone's lying to me or not because it's more about how they're treating me and if they're doing right by me that matters more. Sometimes people are lying just to protect you or make you feel good which I can accept that. And sometimes people can be truthful with you and not really be for you, they're hating on you, they really don't like you, they don't mean well, etc. If they're lying to you and don't mean well, chances are you would have been noticed other things they do that show they're a toxic person or aren't really for you anyway outside of lying. So I'm more about the character of the person. I understand there's some important things people shouldn't lie to you about, but those who are for you would not hide that truth from you if necessary. It's deeper than just spotting a lie or truth in other words. By the way, it also strongly depends on the context of the situation at hand as well. I can't point out every situation in content so this was just a general view of how I view lying when dealing with people. Give me a different context and I might have a whole different answer.

I try to do that with that coworkers just to keep them around i did that with my teammates which has led to six titles which has probably kept them around although I can tell they are unhappy i can tell they don't want to even be there no more but I am trying to keep them around i am so used to them being there but it's like my coworker leaving for school although I honestly think she should have stayed i am probably saying too because we were friends i probably miss her who knows maybe but she will probably be back in November heck I've probably got power authority influence within the workplace I am probably a leader within the workplace I've probably been setting a example for them i bring a very joyful approach to the workplace that's probably been keeping them around that's just like when of my teammates was unhappy didn't want to be around was not interested in being there i kept around that's why i have six titles which means i am tied with Micheal in terms of how many titles we both have

Some people are negative, because they are deeply traumatized.Because they suffer from learned helplessness. Because they have depression, bipolar, PTSD, GAD. Before you judge anyone, express your care, offer your support and understanding. Don't jump into conclusions which base on your perceptions. If you don't do that - you are not positive, you're very judgemental and injust.

i dont support the catholic church because it changed its teaching from life and death to just life when the bible sais the wages of sin is death. they told a lie because i still see people dying everyday.

This is off topic...for now...but that's because it's merely an introduction for the sake of context. I will ask about lying after someone responds. Now, once at work, when a coworker was giving us instructions for the night and asked if there were any questions, my old manager, totally unprompted, suddenly said, "Does that make sense, John?" I think she asked me in particular because of all the times I struggled with tasks and demonstrated my slow, limited understanding. That was the night I delayed getting something for a coworker and the manager had to help me find it. I think she thinks I'm...well, whatever is a nice, more respectful word for "stupid," since she surely wouldn't use or think that mean word, especially consciously. But either way, I just can't stop the feeling and impression that she thinks I'm Mr. "Gee, I don't get it." Would that explain her "random" question to _me_ that night, no one else? That she thinks I'm slow?
